In my mind's eye
I see a child
feet swinging
as she sits on a fallen aspen tree
and listening to the tree maidens
sing about eternity
she smiles.
In my mind's eye
I see a young woman
naked, save for the sorrow
she drapes across her shoulders
and crying, her blue eyes
cast up to the heavens
she dances.
In my mind's eye
I see a mother
her newborn nestled close
to the warmth of her aching bosom
and humming a soft tune meant
to call in all her angels
she believes.
In my mind's eye
I see a man
come before her, beautiful soul
his young heart full
and lost to any need
but the desire to open herself to his being
she loves.
